SEATTLE, Wash. - November 19, 2007- DUX Area, Inc. today announced the hiring of John Watson as Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing. Watson will be managing the strategic direction for worldwide distribution and sales along with all marketing communications, as DUX continues to focus on developing economically viable environmental solutions utilizing its patented "laminar air flow" coating application systems as its flagship technology offering.

"We're very excited about John's depth of experience in a number of industrial fields where he led two companies to positions of market leadership measured by volume and profitability," said DUX CEO Kevin Kelley. "He will be a solid team builder, which is an important DUX value."

DUX continues to gain market share with their innovative spray guns. Offering the first technological advances to industrial coatings equipment in over 80 years, these guns provide proven savings of 15-40% of coatings costs.

Watson has spent 25 years as a senior sales and marketing officer in two industry segments - specification lighting systems and building products - and has extensive experience negotiating national supply agreements with the largest home and building products retailers in the world.

"I'm a solid team-builder that believes and lives by the principle that people are our number one asset," said Watson. "I'm delighted to be joining the winning DUX team."

DUX products offer flexibility, proven cost savings
DUX products are built on advanced airflow technology originally developed to optimize engine performance on Formula Three race cars. This has produced the first improvements to spray gun technology in decades. Features of the DUX product line include:

  • Dramatic transfer efficiency improvements which allow customers to reduce coatings usage and costs by an average of 15-40%.
  • Significantly reduced overspray which creates a healthier work environment and allows for faster clean-up.
  • Reduced disposal costs and less use of air filters, masking materials and other consumable items containing hazardous waste.
  • An operator-friendly design - balanced, easy-to-use products that are the lightest weight in their classes.
  • Flexibility which allows one gun to be used for multiple applications and with a wide range of coating viscosities and solids content.
  • Meets or exceeds all U.S. and international air quality standards related to air spray equipment.
